At Intellect English we provide six levels of General English course to learn and excel in english (Starter, Elementary, Pre-Intermediate, Intermediate, Upper-Intermediate, Advanced). The General English course is delivered via an interactive classroom based platform to assist students develop their English language understanding.

The General English Course is made up of 6 levels –

  • Pre- Intermediate

  • Upper-Intermediate
  • Advanced.

Each level is 12 weeks, 20 hours per week full-time face-to-face. Each level is determined by the student’s current knowledge of the English language with an entry test being required to ascertain the correct starting point.

COURSE RATIONALE

The primary goal for students is to prepare them to communicate successfully in English outside the classroom. General English course is designed to develop autonomous learning through student-centred activities with a focus on task-based learning and communicative competence. Each level effectively integrates the four macro-skills, which optimises the possibility of a student reaching their learning potential.     GENERAL ENGLISH ADVANTAGE WITH US

    Intellect English is a boutique provider of ELICOS (English Language Intensive Courses for Overseas Students). We are registered by ASQA (Australian Skills Quality Authority) as an approved CRICOS (Commonwealth Register of Institutions and Courses for Overseas Students) provider. Our CRICOS provider no is 03711M and can be verified from http://cricos.education.gov.au/Institution/InstitutionDetails.aspx?ProviderID=3711. ELICOS courses are suited for students wishing to either study these courses stand alone to improve their reading, writing, speaking and listening skills of English language or as a pathway for further studies in Australia for vocational or higher education courses. English is the most common second language in the world.

    ELICOS students are required to attend the college 20 hrs/week. The National Code of Practice applies to all providers of education and training to international students. Standard 8 of the National Code refers to overseas student visa requirements.

    ELICOS providers are required to comply with the attendance monitoring of students. Students must achieve satisfactory attendance for the course which at a minimum must be 80 per cent of the scheduled contact hours. Students from China, Thailand, South Korea, Vietnam, Malaysia, Indonesia, India, Sri Lanka, Nepal, and South America and European countries come to study ELICOS in Australia as International students on Student Visa subclass 500. Australia is one of the preferred destination for students wishing to study English language courses. Learning and study experience in Australia for students is further enhanced by the natural beauty of Australian outback and abundance of beaches.
