Overview

Are you looking for an opportunity to join a great company in a leadership role? The Assistant Store Manager will support the Store Manager in the daily operations of the store and will be primarily responsible for the store in the absence of the Store Manager. Assistant Store Managers must have a passion for excellence in service and customer experience, while also creating a warm family environment for their team members. The ideal candidate will have the experience and skills necessary to effectively run store operations at Woodlands Markets high standards. Equally important, the ideal candidate must have interpersonal skills such as compassion, empathy, and active listening skills needed to connect and communicate effectively with team members.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure that EVERY customer that comes through our doors has an amazing customer experience and leaves the store feeling they were treated superbly.
  • Address any Customer concerns or other issues that may arise.
  • Work closely with Store Manager to ensure that company initiatives for the store are accomplished.
  • Responsible for the overall condition of the Store. This includes appearance, cleanliness, and any safety issues.
  • Have the ability to write weekly store labor schedules adhering to labor targets.
  • Solid understanding of expenditures by department on a weekly, period by period, and ultimately yearly basis. COGS should be reflective of sales relative to the department during the same time periods.
  • Coach, mentor, motivate and train staff as needed.
  • Work with management to ensure that a proactive approach is taken to workplace safety.
  • In conjunction with Store Manager, responsible for coordination and follow through in matters of compliance.
  • Collaborate with Store Manager and Human Resources regarding staffing needs, employee relations issues, morale, motivation, incentives etc
  • Collaborate with Store Manager to effectively communicate changes or directives to employees, acting as local change agent when necessary.
