Job Description
We're looking for a skilled Diesel Technician to diagnose, maintain, and repair ambulances. You'll ensure optimal performance, safety, and reliability through expert troubleshooting and quality workmanship.
Responsibilities:
Perform vehicle maintenance and repairs from the preventative maintenance schedule.
Diagnose and repair all issues related to fleet vehicles.
Test repaired equipment to ensure proper function and adherence to safety/performance standards.
Record all repairs and maintenance on provided logs.
Strictly follow all safety protocols, regulations (OSHA, DOT), and maintain a safe workspace.
Communicate effectively with colleagues and customers, contributing to efficient workflow.
Stay current with evolving diesel technology and repair techniques.
Qualifications:
High School Diploma/GED required; vocational/technical program in diesel technology highly preferred.
7 years as a Diesel Technician or Heavy Equipment Mechanic.
1 year of Fleet Maintenance experience
Strong understanding of diesel engine mechanics, hydraulics, pneumatics, and electrical systems. Proficiency with diagnostic software (e.g., Cummins Insite, CAT ET).
Valid Oregon driver’s license and insurability (CDL often a plus)
Current ASE certifications (minimum 5 with 9 or Master ASE preferred)
Able to lift heavy objects and perform strenuous tasks in various environments.
Strong problem-solving, analytical, attention to detail, and communication skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
