Job Description

We're looking for a skilled Diesel Technician to diagnose, maintain, and repair ambulances. You'll ensure optimal performance, safety, and reliability through expert troubleshooting and quality workmanship.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Perform vehicle maintenance and repairs from the preventative maintenance schedule.

  • Diagnose and repair all issues related to fleet vehicles.

  • Test repaired equipment to ensure proper function and adherence to safety/performance standards.

  • Record all repairs and maintenance on provided logs.

  • Strictly follow all safety protocols, regulations (OSHA, DOT), and maintain a safe workspace.

  • Communicate effectively with colleagues and customers, contributing to efficient workflow.

  • Stay current with evolving diesel technology and repair techniques.

 

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma/GED required; vocational/technical program in diesel technology highly preferred.

  • 7 years as a Diesel Technician or Heavy Equipment Mechanic.

  • 1 year of Fleet Maintenance experience

  • Strong understanding of diesel engine mechanics, hydraulics, pneumatics, and electrical systems. Proficiency with diagnostic software (e.g., Cummins Insite, CAT ET).

  • Valid Oregon driver’s license and insurability (CDL often a plus)

  • Current ASE certifications (minimum 5 with 9 or Master ASE preferred)

  • Able to lift heavy objects and perform strenuous tasks in various environments.

  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, attention to detail, and communication skills.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
