Greets customers, assists with book finding/special orders, processes sales at the register, answers phones, and helps with general store tasks like shelving and maintaining tidiness, blending customer service with light administrative duties to create a welcoming literary environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Customer Service: Greet and assist visitors, help locate books, offer recommendations, process sales (cash/card), handle returns, and take special orders.
• Store Operations: Operate the cash register, keep the front desk/store tidy, restock shelves, organize displays, and assist with inventory (receiving, shelving).
• Communication: Answer, screen, and forward phone calls, respond to inquiries, and provide basic information about store policies or events.
• Administrative Support: Handle mail/deliveries, manage basic paperwork, and assist staff with clerical tasks as needed.

Essential Skills & Qualifications:

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for customer interaction.
• Passion for books and knowledge of the retail/library environment.
• Ability to work as part of a team.
• Proficiency with computers for sales/inventory systems.
• Reliability, organization, and a friendly demeanor.

Work Schedule and Typical Daily Duties:

Monday-Friday 8a.m. - 4p.m.
