We are seeking a knowledgeable, experienced clinical microbiologist to oversee the microbiology student education program to ensure robust education and compliance within our system. This role will plan curriculum, ensure compliance and quality of experience within our student outreach programs. This role will interact with a variety of team members to accomplish these goals and requires a strong educational and collaborative mindset. The ideal candidate will have expertise in clinical laboratory microbiology as well as passion for sharing this knowledge with new generations of clinical laboratorians.

POSITION SUMMARY

This position provides for the management of the SQL/LSA Microbiology Student Lab Experience and oversight of the student instruction as part of their technical externship. The Microbiology Student Lab Experience is located in the SQL Microbiology department area of the main commercial lab facility in Phoenix. Performs all functions according to established policies, procedures, regulatory and accreditation requirements, as well as applicable professional standards.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's Degree in Microbiology or clinical laboratory science or medical technology.
• Four (4) years' training and experience in high-complexity testing.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• MLS/MT or Specialty Certification.
• Two (2) years of experience precepting students in clinical externship
• One (1) year of supervisory experience.
