Director of Logistics

Location: Baltimore, MD

Salary Range: $165,000–$190,000

Employment Type: Full-Time

About the Role

We’re seeking a strategic and hands-on logistics leader to oversee end-to-end supply chain operations, drive efficiency, and lead a high-performing team. As Director of Logistics, you’ll play a critical role in shaping transportation, distribution, and inventory strategies that support business growth and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership

• Develop and execute logistics strategies aligned with company goals.
• Lead cross-functional initiatives to improve supply chain performance and cost efficiency.
• Build and mentor a team of logistics professionals across transportation, warehousing, and distribution.

Operations Management

• Oversee daily logistics operations including inbound/outbound shipping, inventory control, and vendor management.
• Ensure optimal use of resources, systems, and technologies to streamline processes.
• Monitor KPIs and implement continuous improvement initiatives.

Technology & Data Insights

• Leverage logistics platforms and analytics tools to drive decision-making.
• Implement systems that enhance visibility, forecasting, and performance tracking.

Compliance & Risk Management

• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and international regulations.
• Manage contracts, audits, and risk mitigation strategies across logistics functions.

Vendor & Partner Relations

• Negotiate and manage relationships with carriers, 3PLs, and suppliers.
• Evaluate vendor performance and ensure service-level agreements are met.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in logistics, supply chain, or transportation management.
• Proven leadership experience in a fast-paced, multi-site environment.
• Strong knowledge of logistics systems (e.g., WMS, TMS, ERP).
• Excellent analytical, communication, and negotiation skills.
• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, or related field (MBA preferred).
