French Teacher Responsibilities Teach several French courses for students in grades 9-12 across various proficiency levels. Developing lesson plans and curricula based on the needs of individual students. Providing conversational classes where pronunciation and important words and phrases are taught. Teaching French writing and composition courses. Design a student-centered classroom that promotes collaboration and active engagement. Conducting research on teaching methods, materials, and language games that can be used in class. Scheduling and preparing students for oral and written examinations. Assisting in residential life duties including community-building events, enforcing housing policies, addressing student concerns, and fostering a safe and inclusive living environment. French Teacher Requirements Bachelor’s degree in French, Education, or related required. Master’s degree preferred. Fluency in French required. 2-3 years of previous teaching experience strongly preferred. No teaching license or credential is required. Strong English written, and verbal communication skills. Well-organized and able to handle multiple responsibilities. Involvement outside of the classroom by helping with coaching, leading extra-curricular activities, or community service activities. Additional Desired Qualities Ability to teach both French and Spanish.
