The Hospital Pharmacist dispenses medications, ensures prescription accuracy, and advises healthcare professionals on drug therapy, interactions, and side effects. They are responsible for preparing medications according to regulatory standards, managing controlled substances, and educating patients and staff on proper medication use. Required qualifications include a PharmD or BS degree and an active pharmacy license with preference for board certification.
Under the general direction of the Pharmacy Manager or designee, will dispense drugs prescribed by physicians and other health practitioners and provide information to patients about medications and their use. He or she may advise physicians and other health practitioners on the selection, dosage, interactions, and side effects of medications.
