Location: Caroline County Detention Center / Bowling Green, VA
Job Type: Full-time | Contract
Pay: $30/hr

 

About the Role

Quality Patient Centered Services (QPCS) is seeking a dedicated Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to provide care at an IHSC-staffed facility . The LPN will be an essential part of a multidisciplinary team, supporting patient care across ambulatory, emergency, mental health, and infirmary settings.

This position involves performing clinical assessments, administering medications, and assisting with various medical treatments under the supervision of a registered nurse or provider.

 

Responsibilities

● Provide direct patient care within the LPN scope of practice.

• Administer oral, subcutaneous, intramuscular, and IV medications.
• Conduct intake screenings for new patients and refer abnormal findings.

● Perform wound care, vital sign checks, electrocardiograms, ear lavage, and nebulizer therapy.

● Collect lab specimens and perform point-of-care testing.

• Respond to medical emergencies and assist in stabilizing patients.
• Support other healthcare providers with patient data collection, education, and coordination of care.

● Participate in emergency or court-ordered patient care as required.

 

Qualifications

● Graduate of an accredited Vocational/Practical Nurse program.

● Current, unrestricted LPN/LVN license in the state of assignment (or compact state).

● Minimum 1 year of experience in a hospital, medical office, or outpatient setting.

● Experience in a detention, correctional, or residential healthcare environment preferred.

● Current BLS certification (American Heart Association).

● Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and EMR systems.

● Strong communication and teamwork skills.

 

Schedule

● Full-time schedule, 5x8 shifts

● May include weekends, evenings, or holidays as needed.
