Job Title: Cashier Assistant – Liquor Store

Overview: We are seeking a friendly, reliable, and detail-oriented Cashier Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will assist with daily cashier duties, provide excellent customer service, and ensure smooth store operations, including closing procedures. Key Responsibilities:

• Greet customers warmly and assist with their purchases.
• Operate cash register accurately and efficiently.
• Handle cash, credit, and debit transactions securely.
• Maintain a clean and organized checkout area.
• Answer customer inquiries and provide product information.
• Restock shelves and ensure product displays are neat and appealing.
• Assist in inventory counts and stock management.
• Follow all store policies, including age verification for alcohol sales.
• Support store opening and closing procedures.
• Ensure the store is secured and properly closed at the end of each shift, including cash reconciliation, securing the premises, and turning off equipment.

Requirements:

• Previous retail or cashier experience preferred, but we are willing to train the right candidate.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Basic math skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to handle cash and operate a POS system.
• Must be at least 21 years old (or as per local laws for alcohol sales).
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs.

Closing Responsibilities:

• Count and reconcile cash and receipts.
• Secure all cash and store valuables in accordance with store policies.
• Turn off lights and electronic equipment.
• Ensure all areas are clean and organized.
• Lock doors and set security alarms.
• Complete any required closing reports.
