Materials Manager | Zeeland, MI

Salary Range: $83,000 - $123,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement inventory control strategies to optimize stock levels and minimize holding costs.
• Oversee material planning, procurement, and scheduling to support production demands.
• Manage supplier relationships and performance to ensure timely delivery of high-quality materials.
• Utilize ERP/MRP systems for accurate material forecasting, planning, and tracking.
• Lead and mentor the materials team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
• Implement strategies for material cost reduction and waste elimination.
• Ensure compliance with quality standards and regulatory requirements for all materials.

Recommended Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in materials management or supply chain within a manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems and advanced inventory management techniques.
• Strong understanding of lean manufacturing principles, S&OP processes, and supplier relationship management.
• Demonstrated ability to lead teams, optimize material flow, and achieve cost savings.

Bonus Qualifications

• APICS CPIM or CSCP certification.
• Experience applying Lean manufacturing principles or Six Sigma methodologies.
• Advanced proficiency with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and material planning software.
• Experience with global supply chain management and international logistics.
