SummaryThe OB/GYN Ultrasonographer is responsible for providing ultrasound services to the physicians and Advance Practice Providers (APP)within Lee Physician Group. The sonographer performs scans at multiple sites for obstetric, gynecologic and infertility patients. The individual in this position is responsible for performing sonographic exams and assisting in ultrasound-guided office procedures via transabdominal and transvaginal instrumentation. The OB/GYN Ultrasonographer analyzes sonograms, synthesizes sonographic information and medical history, and communicates sonographers impression via written reports to the appropriate physician. The ultrasound technologists performs under the general supervision of a physician and in accordance with state and federal regulations, American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine (AIUM) guidelines and Lee Memorial Health System/Lee Physician Group policies and procedures. The individual in this position is responsible for maintaining a safe environment for patients and staff including, but not limited to infection control and equipment safety and participates in maintenance of AIUM laboratory accreditation. The scope of care may be broadened to other procedures, acts and processes permitted by law for which the individual has received education, clinical experience and demonstrates competency. The ultrasound technologist in this position reports to the practice office manager.
RequirementsEducation:Graduate of a Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonographer program.
Experience:Minimum of 3 years of experience in sonography, 1year in OB/GYN required. 3D/4D Uterine Volume Rendering, Sonohysterography, IUD placement guidance, OB/GYN physician office experience preferred. Must demonstrate the ability to consistently perform obstetric ultrasounds according to AIUM imaging standards for the1st, 2nd and 3rd trimester.
Certification:BLS Required. TROPHON certification required (can be obtained within 30 days after hire). CLEAR certification preferred.
License:Active ARDMS certification and OB/GYN specialization required.
