Job Title: Plant Operator
Job Description

Join a dynamic mining company that specializes in extracting minerals from the ground, creating large quarries, and restoring the land. You will work at one of two locations in Stony Creek, facilities that resemble chemical manufacturing plants.

Responsibilities

• Record downtime and instrument readings.
• Observe slurry volume entering concentrator circuits and control mining unit and feed rates.
• Assist in service line relocation, tails line installation, and mining unit relocation.
• Maintain metallurgical circuits to ensure product quality.
• Start up and shut down all circuits and equipment in the mining area.
• Operate heavy equipment, ideally with forklift experience.
• Perform minor maintenance repairs and obtain concentrate samples.
• Conduct basic housekeeping using water hoses and pressure washers.
• Assist Engineering and Mining Production on maintenance repair days.
• Follow safety rules and report any violations to the Mining Team Leader.

Essential Skills

• 2-3 years of experience in blueprint reading, machine operation, and chemical or similar field.
• 1-2 years of experience in heavy industry or outside work.
• Ability to operate and drive motor vehicles with a valid driver's license.
• Proficiency in technical, equipment, and work-related training provided by ASM.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with plant equipment and operations.
• Mechanically inclined with the ability to use hand tools.
• Ability to handle and move service lines to the Mining Unit.
• Strong understanding of process flow and PLC controls.

Work Environment

The role involves working both indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions. You will be exposed to extreme temperatures, excessive noise, and dust. Physical demands include moderate lifting, climbing ladders, and working on scaffolding. The environment requires excellent color vision and depth perception. Collaboration with others in a team setting is essential, as is working in a radiological area where minerals emit low levels of radiation.

This is a Permanent position based out of Petersburg, Virginia.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $47840.00 - $56160.00/yr.

Will get a copy from Management
Eligible to sign up immediately for Medical, Dental, Vision etc.
