Construction Safety Manager
Location: Dayton, OH
Duration: 3+ Months (Immediate Need)
Employment Type: 1099 Contractor (Potential opportunity for Full-time W2 role)
Hourly Rate: $45.50/hr
Per Diem: None
Completion Bonus: $150/month
Pay Frequency: Weekly
Schedule: Monday–Friday | 8-hour shifts | 40 hours/week
Travel: Company vehicle and fuel card provided (gas covered)
The Field Safety Manager will oversee safety operations across multiple mechanical contracting projects, including commercial construction, industrial work, and military contracts. Most project sites are located in Dayton, with additional site visits and inspections in Cincinnati and Columbus.
QualificationsOSHA 30 required
Minimum of 2 years of safety experience
Mechanical construction experience preferred
EM 385 preferred
Must be able to pass a background check (required for access to military sites)
Conduct routine safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments
Support incident investigations and implement corrective actions
Deliver safety orientations and training for employees, subcontractors, and new hires
Collaborate with project teams to proactively identify and mitigate hazards
Maintain safety performance, incident, and compliance documentation
Promote a strong safety-first culture across all levels of the organization
Skills
Strong public speaking and communication skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)
Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
High level of professionalism and confidentiality
Knowledge
Solid understanding of EHS principles and construction safety regulations
Ability to clearly communicate safety standards and expectations
