Job Description\n

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Level I Trauma Emergency Department position requiring NM or compact state licensure and current TNCC certification.

\n \n Responsibilities\n

• Work in the Emergency Department of an acute care hospital with Level I Trauma and teaching hospital designation
• Care for critical patients, including many ED admits and ED holding cases
• Typical nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:5
• Shifts are available for 36 or 48 hours per week, primarily nights (19:00-07:30)
• Weekend shifts required as needed, with weekend nights including Friday, Saturday, and Sunday
• Floating to Adult Progressive Care Units (PCUs) is expected based on staffing needs, optional floating to Pediatric ED
• Charting is done using Cerner EMR
• Black scrubs required, not provided by the facility
• Administer medications, including IVs, and accurately document and communicate clinical findings
• Increased number of admitted hold patients currently seen in the unit
• Night and weekend shifts part of regular scheduling
• First time travelers may be considered if meeting Level I Trauma experience requirements
• No on-call responsibilities
• Parking is provided at no cost

\n \n Requirements\n

• Active NM or compact RN license; NM license may be pending at time of consideration
• Current certifications required: Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Basic Life Support (BLS), Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS; can be pending)
• Must have TNCC certification before consideration
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required; those with at least 1.5 years may be considered
• Level I Trauma experience strongly preferred
• COVID-19 vaccination required, with medical or religious exemptions accepted upon proper documentation
• No local candidates within 75 miles will be considered
