Job Description

At Amber, we're always on the hunt for the most talented individuals in the industry to join our team. We're dedicated to delivering top-notch service to our customers and know that our employees are key to making that happen. We offer attractive compensation packages and plenty of chances to grow with us, and we're always on the lookout for ways to do things better. Our team works together towards common goals and we value each member's contributions to our mission of continuous improvement and innovation. Here’s what you can expect: Profile preselection: our Talent Acquisition team will review your profile and, if selected, you will be contacted. Talent Acquisition interview: selected candidates will undergo an initial interview to talk about their experience, skills, and fit for the role. Tests and interviews: qualified candidates will be invited to complete further tests and interviews, including conversations with the game team you may be joining. About the role: Are you a creative, detail-oriented wordsmith who is looking to make an impact as the first of your kind in a successful game? We are seeking a UX Writer (or Copywriter) to join a long-running mobile social casino game of a world-renowned brand. You’ll be the first UX Writer on the project, responsible for shaping and owning the voice, tone, and clarity of all in-game player-facing content. Your work will touch from new features to popups to liveops events, and you will own creating a cohesive, engaging, and on-brand experience for all information shown to the players. This is a permanent, part-time engagement (1–2 days per week, exact schedule negotiable, remote, Europe-based), deeply integrated in the game team. The Quest: Write clear, engaging, and on-brand copy for in-game player-facing messaging, including new features, liveops events, promotions, popups, and banners. Collaborate closely with designers, product managers, and other team members to brainstorm, iterate, and refine copy for maximum impact and clarity. Take a holistic view of the player experience, ensuring consistency and a strong thematic voice throughout the game that supports engagement and retention. Help establish and maintain a cohesive copy style guide for the game, bringing out the unique vibe of the IP. Respond quickly to briefs for liveops and promotions, delivering high-quality copy on tight timelines. Familiarize yourself with the game’s history, features, and players. Iterate on copy based on player feedback, team feedback, stakeholder feedback, and evolving game features. The Skills: Exceptional written and spoken English; able to craft copy that is clear, concise, and engaging for a global audience. 3+ years of professional experience in UX writing, game writing, or in-product copywriting for games or digital products. Experience writing in-product copy (not marketing copy) in areas such as UI text, feature descriptions, event messaging, and player prompts. Deep understanding of user experience principles and how copy supports player engagement and retention. Ability to quickly understand game mechanics, player motivations, and liveops strategies. Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams (design, product, engineering). Comfortable brainstorming and iterating alongside a team. Self-starter, able to manage your own workload and deadlines in a remote, part-time setting. Attention to detail and a passion for creating delightful player experiences. Nice to Have: Background in social casino games, casual games, or mobile games. Familiarity with liveops, player engagement strategies, and retention mechanics. Experience working with major IPs or licensed brands. Experience creating and maintaining content guidelines or style guides. The Reward: A fun and dynamic industry where you can make a difference. Competitive project-based compensation. Awesome and talented colleagues. Clear communication and support throughout the project duration. Transparent and fair evaluation of your work. #J-18808-Ljbffr Amber Studio
