Job Summary and Qualifications

Supports department operations by delivering specialized nursing care related to IV therapy and enteral nutrition to ensure patient comfort and well-being. This includes utilizing the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care while delivering patient education regarding vascular access and enteral nutrition. Responsibilities also include implementing medically prescribed interventions within designated populations, including at Mission Hospital and its affiliate institutions.

Schedule: 7am or 9am, 12hr shifts to be discussed with hiring manager.

Key responsibilities include:

• Facilitating quality vascular access services and nutritional support for patients.
• Performing placement of enteral feeding tubes using an advanced electronic system.
• Preparing patients appropriately for tube placement procedures according to established guidelines and policies.

What qualifications will you need?

• Required Experience: Vascular Access specialization required to perform challenging peripheral access. Proficiency in central venous catheter care including dressing changes and occlusion troubleshooting, and experience in PICC insertion using ultrasound.
• Preferred Experience: Experience in data collection and analysis for vascular access and enteral feeding procedures.
• Required Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing. Candidates must either hold a BSN or enroll in a program within 6 months and graduate within 4 years of hire. Previous signed BSN commitment letters will be accepted.
• Preferred Education: Master’s in Nursing and completion of Cortrak training for enteral feeding tube insertion.
• Required License: Current North Carolina RN license; eNLC applies - verify with NCBON.
• Required Certification: BLS and National Certification VA-BC or CRNI within two years of hire.
