Materials Manager | Portage, MI

Salary Range: $81,000 - $121,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and optimize inventory levels for raw materials, WIP, and finished goods.
• Develop and implement material planning strategies to support production schedules.
• Coordinate with procurement, production, and logistics to ensure efficient material flow.
• Oversee warehouse operations, including receiving, storage, and material issuance.
• Implement continuous improvement initiatives for material management processes.
• Analyze material usage data and forecast future requirements to prevent shortages or overstock.
• Manage supplier relationships related to material delivery and quality performance.

Recommended Qualifications

• Proven experience in supply chain management, procurement, and inventory control within a manufacturing environment.
• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Strong proficiency with ERP/MRP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics) for materials planning and execution.
• Demonstrated ability to develop and implement effective inventory strategies, including forecasting and demand planning.
• Excellent leadership, negotiation, and communication skills.
• Knowledge of Lean manufacturing principles and Just-In-Time (JIT) methodologies.

Bonus Qualifications

• APICS CPIM or CSCP certification
• Lean Six Sigma Green or Black Belt certification
• Experience with advanced data analytics tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) for supply chain optimization
• Proficiency in a specific advanced ERP module (e.g., SAP MM, Oracle SCM)
• International supply chain management experience
