American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Operating Room position specializing in liver, heart, lung, and kidney transplant procedures with strong technical skills required.

\n \n Responsibilities\n
  • Work in the Operating Room of an acute care teaching hospital
  • Care for patients undergoing complex transplant surgeries including liver, heart, lung, and kidney
  • Shift is 11:00 to 23:30 with required liver transplant call and additional case responsibilities as needed
  • On-call required: 1 shift per week and two 12-hour weekend shifts per month
  • Floating within scope to meet facility needs may be required
  • Uses Epic for charting
  • Ceil blue scrubs required
  • Responsibilities include surgical care for multi-organ transplant patients and proficiency with advanced surgical equipment
  • Team structure and support provided in a teaching hospital environment
  • Expect to complete time-sensitive modules promptly upon assignment confirmation
  • All time off requests must be submitted up front; late requests will not be approved
  • Holiday coverage as required by unit needs
  • Free parking available in unrestricted spaces
  • Permanent or per diem staff cannot return to the hospital for 1 year after last assignment
  • Assignments at this health system are capped at 18 consecutive months, with a required 6-month break before returning

  • Active FL or Compact RN license
  • Current ACLS and BLS certifications at time of consideration
  • NIHSS must be obtained prior to start
  • Minimum 2 years of direct Operating Room RN transplant experience, including liver transplant procedures and organ implantation
  • Proficiency with Misonix/CUSA equipment
  • Experience re-implanting organs, not just harvesting
  • Completion of EKG and pharmacy tests during orientation, with two attempts allowed
  • Nicotine-free status confirmed by 10-panel + cotinine drug screen
  • Pending license accepted for consideration
  • First time travelers accepted
